We’d like to thank all of the 2010 PROMoters. Everyone did any amazing job promoting and spreading the word about the Win the Ultimate Prom contest. We’ve truly enjoyed reading all of your great blogs, watching your kick-butt videos and checking out your cool photos. Your creativity was outstanding!

This year, the PROMoter program was bigger than ever, we had more than 100 PROMoters in nearly every state. Thank you for being apart of the crew!

I’m proud of everyone at Lakewood High for voting! There were many dedicated voters who never missed a day of voting and I’m so impressed that we pulled together as a school. Whether we win or not, I’m sure our prom will be amazing. Cross your fingers, though!

I just wanted to say good job to all the seniors for making it as far as we did, and I hope we continue to do great things. I also want to say good job to all promoters because this was not an easy task, and I have seen all the great efforts you have all done.

Being a WUP promoter is one lesson I have learned on my own, and I will continue to remember this in everything I do. Making posters and getting announcements out was not the hardest part, actually getting the attention of my peers was. I wish I could have been more motivated and outgoing, but I did not and I have learned from my mistake.

Even though I’m sure my school will not win, I am still excited for prom and I know it will be great no matter what. I hope everyone else feels the same too. Next year, I will surely help out our school’s WUP promoters and ECV will win eventually!

Maybe Next Year

Turns out I wasn’t the best promoter for my school this year. Last year, I know we did better, but I’m still glad I did it. I now know how much work and effort it takes to get people’s attention and win a contest. It was especially difficult this year because we had to supply our own flyers and announcements, but that should have been no excuse.

I will be sure to give advice and tips to next year’s promoter and let them know what they’re in for. I wish the top ten schools the best of luck and hope you have a great prom night. I also wish everyone else good luck on still creating a great prom night with however much money they have. And, most of all, I hope everyone enjoys their prom!

I just drove home from school and my friend called me to exclaim that we won Weekly Contest for 4 and won 5,000 extra votes! My little brother put my phone on speakerphone and did most of the talking, of course! But I did most of the screaming! I’m still in shoc, and I got to say that us falcons are going to have a lot of celebrating to do tomorrow. We’ll take any boost we can get.

This didn’t cause us to forget that it is the last day to vote! Most California seniors are finishing up their UC and CSU applications to be sent in for tonight, but voting can hopefully be scheduled in as a break! (:

The Win the Ultimate Prom contest was all abuzz throughout the classes and halls at school today. Sadly, the contest has to draw to a close. It was a great two months, and we can’t wait for the results on December 15. Hopefully in our favor, but we’ll have to see!

Ending Strong

Today marks the last day of the WintheUltimateProm.com contest and Gila Ridge is trying to end strong. Today we are donating our time to our first community service of the year. It is a blood drive open to everybody in our community. For the occasion, we decorated the hallways, entrance ways, gym and the donation center with a ton of Win the Ultimate Prom contest gear. We handed out buttons with our promoter code on it to every person who walked into the school. We may not win the contest, but we are not going down without a fight.

As people hustled in and out of stores, hoping to find good deals in the malls, I was hanging around asking as many people as I could for their support in the WIN THE ULTIMATE PROM contest. With passing out flyers and getting people to register on my laptop, I succeeded in spreading the word about what WIN THE ULTIMATE PROM is all about. These last few days are crucial, and any extra help goes a long way.

Promoting at Vons!

This past Monday, since we had no school, my good friend and I set up a table outside of our neighborhood Vons with flyers explaining how to register for WUP and support our school. This isn’t the most effective way of advertising, as it was a very slow process and everyone gave us weird looks, but it was definitely an attempt! Be sure to ask your Vons first, if you’re thinking of doing the same!

Scripps Ranch High School is still continuing to fight!

PARTY AT WEST COVINA!

West Covina’s class of 2012 class council hosted a voting party from November 15 to 24. Every person that went into the computer lab during lunch and voted to WIN THE ULTIMATE PROM were entered in a raffle to win TWO FREE PROM TICKETS! It was very successful and gave people more incentive to vote and help our school win. (:
